DEEDEE SLAY
Based in and originally from Orlando Florida, DeeDee Slay is of course a lover of Breakbeats, but she also has an intense love for Drum and Bass!
She has been a lover of dance and music all of her life, has played many musical instruments and has even taught dance in her past. She didn’t dive into mixing and DJing until late 2021 when she was “thrown” on the decks by a friend in a local Orlando bar, “Uncle Lou’s” and played to a crowd like she was a pro! It all seemed to just come natural for her and a week later she was booked for her first event as “DeeDee Slay”!
Since that fateful night she has played several music festivals, including: Event Horizon, EarthFest, Summer Splash I and II, MassIV 3 and 4 and countless dance clubs all over Florida including “The Get Down” in Miami Florida during MMW (Miami Music Week). She has also played all over the US, with bookings in New Orleans Louisiana, Austin Texas and even as far away as Tacoma and Seattle Washington!In early 2022 she began producing and has two releases with Phreak Recordings. An original breakbeat single titled “Weightin’ On It” that skyrocketed to #8 in eight short days on Beatports Top 100 Electro/Breakbeat/UKBass category and has produced an original Drum and Bass single titled “DAMN HOT!”
We are sure her new found love for producing original electronic music is sure to bring many more hits to come!We should also mention, that since early 2022 she has been the host of her own radio show titled “Mixed Monday’s”, aired live on WRPR, a radio station based out of Tampa Florida, where you can catch her spinning the best in Breakbeats and Drum and Bass every Monday from 8-9pm!
