BIOGRAPHY
PimpZtress RaH spins a mix of HOUSE and BASSLINE HOUSE (UK Speed Garage). BIG BASS, Vocal, Soulful, Funk-driven, Electro-synth, and Big Floor, Peak Hour. She sometimes includes her own (original) vocals during her sets, or performs for other artists during their DJ sets doing live vocal/MC work. Because of her many friends in the House Music community, RaH also receives many un-released tracks to spin into her sets, assuring her a "fresh" and always exciting new sound!
PimpZtress RaH is classically trained on flute and violin and has a diverse musical background which includes: classical, soul, blues, jazz and many other genres of music. She has danced professionally and has toured the country with three different ballet companies. She has always loved music, dancing, singing and performing! Growing up on the West Coast, RaH moved to VA After graduating High School. Here she began her 18+ year love with Electronic Dance Music and the Nightclub community. RaH has worked with some of the biggest names in the EDM world including: Club Systems International, Cellar Door, Made Events, Destiny (Toronto), and Cream UK. She is the founder of an all EDM Dance Team, Liquid Dreams and the DC based Promotion Company, ramZvents Production.
PimpZtress RaH has performed vocals and dropped tracks at many EDM industry private parties and venues within the VA, DC, NC, WV, and MD areas including: Nation (Alias & Cubik Events),DC* Club FIVE, DC * Reverb, Virginia Beach, VA * 2nd Fridays@Tallulah's, Chapel Hill, NC * Eyebar, DC Bassline Party * Ocean Drive Club/Pre-Fix, Silver Spring, MD* Transit/Bridges,VA *Snatch at Ultrabar, DC * Gazuza,DC * Dragonfly Lounge (Second Floor Sessions), DC* Japone', DC * Diamond Club, VA* Spy Lounge, DC * Club Hell & Club Heaven, DC * 534 Club/Konkrete Jungle, Richmond, Virginia, CueBar, DC and Strangeland Records, DC. to name a few.
RaH has spun at many large events too, including: OTAKON 2006 (Baltimore Convention Center), "The Playa's Ball", MD, Dirtbox Radio Anniversary, MD and SummR Bandits a 3 STAGE Event in West Virginia held at The Pavillion. Her residencies include "The Tits! Tuesdays" and an Electronic Dance Music Friday Weekly - "Prefix" in MD. RaH has performed live vocal-over sets with such artists as Joe Nice (Dubstep), Daniella Downs (Breakbeats), and Mojo Jones (House), as well as singing occationally live at clubs for her own sets.
PimpZtress RaH has performed many times on live and recorded radio shows including XM 80 "The Move" and GMU Radio, DC. She also has hosted many online radio shows, including several "AFTERHOURS DJ" performances: www.afterhoursdjs.org.
PimpZtress RaH is currently working on production with several EDM producers including: Microstar, and Mojo Jones. She has also collaborated on many projects with Microstar and was recently featured on Angel Alanis' single, "Do U Like It When U Shake It" (released in November, 2006, out on Beatport). RaH also continues to do remixes for other artists and works daily on her own vocals and music production.
PimpZtress RaH has recently signed on as an artist with angramusic (www.angramusic.com) in Portugal and will be touring soon and making her music heard in and across Europe!
PimpZtress RaH continues to be featured on many radio shows around the globe - national and international radio shows, Satellite (XM 80 "The Move") & Internet (AfterHoursDJs.org). Her latest weekly show can be heard on http://www.globalvortex.com.
PimpZtress RaH is also promoting a new clothing line launching its website November 2007! Based in the UK, the edgy-cool company is sure to create a stir worldwide! Be sure to check the website soon!
Besides Eating, Sleeping and Breathing Music, PimpZtress RaH is a true artist selling her paintings and sculptures (freelance) and has displayed her art in exhibits in the DC area. She often takes pictures during events and has worked everything from light and laser technician to designer, graphics, choreographer, makeup and costuming for Electronic Dance Music (EDM) events. RaH has also written for several EDM magazines (both online and printed) regarding the nightclub industry and music.
RaH is the proud "Mom" of four children - Dj Knat being her oldest son (breakbeat music producer and DJ) and is married to (DJ) ramz (tribal progressive house DJ and producer). She maintains her love of live-planted fishtanks throughout her home and owns a happy Welch Spaniel named "Butters".
